Welcome to "Plumtre Way." Something of a unique photography project of a unique stretch of road within the town of Eastwood.
Plumtree or Plumtre? For that of course is the question, but whilst you might think that it is "Plumtree Way" it is actually spelt "Plumtre Way." And whilst on a map, whilst driving either down Plumtre Way, or up Plumtre Way, it might look rather ordinary and might come across as a rather ordinary stretch of road, it is also a work of art. Yes, slightly strange perhaps to say, but down the middle of Plumtre Way, what is there? Well a lot of trees that over the years I have observed, for throughout the seasons they just have a little something magical about them. In the Spring they are alive with the arts of nature and that happens to be the beautiful Cherry Blossoms that make it truly magical and incredibly photogenic, in the Summer they are awash with beautiful shades of green foliage and in the Autumn they come alive with the most opulent shades of colour, just as nature prepares itself for a big sleep and of course the incoming elements and bareness that Winter brings with it. Even in the Winter, without foliage and with beautiful crisp weather that involves snowfall or even a delightful hoar frost, there is just something magical about this seemingly ordinary looking stretch of road.
And over the years I have always photographed Plumtre Way, from lets just say Terra Firma, aka the ground and yes from the ground it has always looked magical no matter what the season is. But then what has happened recently, well just the other day I managed to capture some photos of the colours of Plumtre Way, from above - however though for some reason, perhaps that is because of the awkward light elements I was not impressed, but it got me thinking the following,
"Surely there is a project to be had here, surely that project could be to capture Plumtre Way, throughout the seasons from a unique perspective, from above and get something akin to a birds eye view looking down, and with that, I subsequently decided to simply start this new blog/photography project called Plumtre Way."
Either way though what happened today? On the 22nd of October 2025? Well thankfully the light conditions in the afternoon were just sublime and I started on this new photographic project, which will showcase the beauty and the change in the trees and this unique stretch of seemingly ordinary looking suburban road, from a birds eye perspective.
